Melting Away…….
Gorvett & Stone has been coping as best we can with extreme hot weather conditions in summer 2026 in a multitude of ways. Our Iced Chocolate Drinks and Iced Coffee have been going down a storm. Remember you also get a free chocolate from our loose counter with all drink purchases. The air-conditioning works very hard this time of year. Actually the kitchen and the shop are great places to hang out. They are the coolest part of the building. Not sure G&S employees enjoy me “lurking…”
In contrast Christmas has started here too. Our first big Christmas delivery to Fortnum & Mason was on 3rd August. Christmas Coal of course….Don’t despair it will be available to buy in Henley and online soon enough.
Last year we did an early offer for Newsletter subscribers where you could pre-order your Christmas Coal and save some money obviously. Make sure you are subscribed…don’t worry we don’t inundate you with emails. Usually monthly/fortnightly, not every day. Keep an eye out in September for a repeat offer. Once the heat subsides there will also be an end of Summer (Back to School!) sale. Watch this space
We have been working on our website over the last 6 months too, thank you very much to Laura Brady (an ex-employee at G&S) who is an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) expert with her help in getting our website higher up on Google and valuable advise about how to be recognised by AI models.
We are taking part this week in the "Paint the Town Yellow" event for Henley in Bloom entry to Britain in Bloom Town of the Year competition..... that's a mouthful! Check out our new Sunflower window display if you're in town. Also the image for this blog.
On the New product front, we have (relatively) new products that are already customer favourites. Our Giant Mendiants in milk, white or dark chocolate are divine IMHO. Our Sea Salt Caramels have been updated and have been super popular and have been highly praised by some, clearly very discerning food bloggers who received them for review. Our delicious summer Raspberry Cream Tea chocolates too are extremely popular, try them before Summer turns to Autumn and Christmas really kicks in.
I think its time to stop typing and go and lurk in the shop.
Till the next time
Matt
